"Design Like a Girl" Program Visits Siena's New Wing
With spring upon us, it's time to get all our ducts in a row! HVAC components and ductwork are being added throughout the addition. We are getting closer and closer to glass installation, so the external appearance of the new wing will begin to look finalized soon. Here's a shot of the construction site as of Friday morning:
In other news, the AIA D.C. Design Like a Girl Mentor Program recently incorporated Siena into one of its workshops!
On March 3rd, 2017, the DLAG Program focused on engineering and construction. They began the day nearby at the Argyle Recreation Center and completed a series of hands-on exercises exploring structural design principals. In the afternoon, they took an hour-long tour of The Siena School's new wing! They were shown around by professional engineers and architects who helped them identify structural elements on site.
Even under construction, Siena's new wing is a place of learning! We were thrilled to be able to be a part of this great program that encourages young women to explore a career in architecture.
