Brace Yourselves: Big Changes are Coming!
Our construction crew continues to make progress on our new wing despite the ups and downs we've had in the weather. I've resorted to wearing one glove to school this week -- I heard it might get cold, but on the other hand it might not.
We hope you haven't had your fill of construction photos (or jokes), because backfilling has begun.
Hold up -- what are these orange things in our construction site? They're supports to keep our walls in place during the backfilling process!
Don't let the number of supports cause any worry over the state of our walls -- they're in stable condition. This is just part of a process that will help us gain back some spaces in our parking lot.
As backfilling begins, the pile of dirt in the parking lot will disappear. How does that old saying go...let's make a molehill out of a mountain?
Waterproofing is being extended up the foundation walls so that the backfilling can continue. This will ensure that the foundation stays nice and dry in the ground even if it rains or snows.
By the way, have you heard the joke about the three holes in the ground filled with water? Well, well, well...
