Reconstruction Begins…

After stripping the first floor down to its nuts and bolts, the work crew installed much of the duct work into the ceiling. Now they are starting to install insulation.
Insulation is traditionally used to keep a building temperate. In this case, it will also help insulate the special acoustic dampening ceiling in which the school has invested to ensure that first floor classrooms are quiet even if there’s a basketball game in the gym overhead.

Just a few more bags to go!

Coming next week…drywall! It’s stacked up and ready to go.

Let there be light

While work continues on the new ceiling and other interior structures, the newest project at The Siena School is putting in windows.  To get as much light as possible, new windows are being created both externally and in some cases, internally between the classrooms and hallways.

The men are putting in new windows in these classrooms.

Interior windows will help bring light into the hallways.

New exterior windows will be placed in what used to be a brick wall.
